WILSON BLADE 100L V8.0 285G RACKET

This new Wilson Blade 100L V8 racket adopts an innovative new chameleon design inspired by nature, with the color changing from green to copper depending on the angle of view. Lightweight and easy to handle, it has been designed to enhance swing performance while providing improved stability and feel. Its string pattern is equipped with Parallel Drilling for a wider sweetspot. The handle features Top Grip Taper technology for optimum grip.

Wilson has also made two important technological evolutions to improve the stability and flexibility of its racket. The Feelflex technology present on the V7 of the Blade 100L has evolved to become the FortyFive. This enhances the racket's stability by allowing it to bend optimally with each stroke, providing a very flexible feel. Direct Connect Handle technology also reinforces the structure of the handle and lengthens it to improve vibration absorption and provide even greater stability.

WILSON BLADE 100L V8 EXTREME TENNIS TEST

This is one of the best-selling rackets in the Blade range, thanks to its ease of play and ball feel. We strung it with Solinco Tour Bite Soft at 23/22 to gain power and spin during our test (this is a string we particularly recommend, as it provides excellent performance on this frame). Its 645 cm² headsize coupled with its 16/19 string pattern facilitates tolerance, but we still felt a good reserve of control on each of our shots. Weighing in at 285 grams, the racket is easy to handle and will be appreciated by players who are physically short during long matches.

From the baseline, the Wilson Blade 100L offers two main benefits: stability and touch compared to the previous version. In both respects, the gain is significant and highly appreciable. Indeed, even on explosive shots, the racket doesn't "flinch" and responds wonderfully well. The 285-gram mass of this racket does, however, make it a little heavier on the ball. However, it's still predominantly a control racket. You'll need a minimum of commitment to get the most out of it, but there's no doubt you'll be rewarded by the feel it delivers.

Note that spin remains classic for a 16/19 string pattern. If you're looking to optimize spin and ball control, you'll be better off with the Blade 98S.

FOR WHICH PLAYERS DO WE RECOMMEND THIS RACKET?

We recommend the new Blade 100L v8 to intermediate-level players looking for a maneuverable, versatile racket. It will enable rapid progress and great variety in the game.

It's perfect for both baseline punchers and counter-attackers looking for a good compromise between feel/control and forgiveness.
